Assistant Sales Manager

We are a forward-thinking company seeking an Assistant Sales Manager in San Antonio who has strong knowledge of the automobile industry. This individual should exhibit superior customer relations while having in-depth knowledge of sales within a dealership atmosphere.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Sales Manager with various aspects of retail management, including stocks, rosters and customer relations
  • Assist in monthly meetings with General Sales Manager to review forecasts and profits for each department
  • Assist General Sales Manager in the recommendation of short and long term advertising plans, promotions, compensation programs, staff openings and lease promotions
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings
  • Administrative duties
  • Assist General Sales Manager with audit appraisals on trade-in vehicles
  • Assist in the creation of an annual sales forecast – estimate total vehicle sales, gross sales and operating profits
  • Assist in directing sales team in motivating sales for higher profitability
  • Calculate expenses for new and used sales departments
  • Attend to customer issues and complaints while offering a superior level of customer service
  • Assist and verify the display and merchandizing of new and used vehicles
  • Verify all promotions for finalization by General Sales Manager
  • Assist with the release of demonstration vehicles – maintain detailed records
  • Coordinate the ordering and acquiring of vehicle inventory
  • Maintain good relations with the sales manager and associates – plan and assist in the implementation of objectives
  • Ensure objectives are implemented in order to achieve sales and gross profits
  • Assist in the monitoring of current staff, new hire paperwork, and audit performances of department managers
  • Assist and conduct vehicle sales training classes

Requirements:

  • Meets above requirements for employment
  • Two years previous experience in automotive sales
  • Knowledge of inventory systems and vehicle systems
  • Understanding of dealership computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Maintain profitability
  • Assist in controls of expenses within department
  • Valid state sales license
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Skilled communicator who demonstrates unique and exceptional customer service skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Maintain a good relationship with sales staff and other departments’ associates
  • Comply with federal, state and local regulations concerning fleet vehicles sales
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
  • Display a professional appearance and above standard work ethics

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Strong background in business, mathematics and computer systems is helpful
